Book review: The Blank Album

Blank Album 1

I stumbled across this novel in the waiting room at a euthanasia clinic and I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised.

My Great Uncle was having second thoughts about the procedure, god rest his soul, and I really hate to make a wasted trip. Fortunately, the clinic keeps a few copies lying around for just such a contingency, and after a couple of chapters he was begging me to stop his heart! Continue reading

Wow. Where to begin?

I have had the pleasure to fondle numerous metallic shafts in my time, but not one of them has ever come close to preparing me for the York Spinlock Weightlifting Bar. Continue reading

Following in a long tradition of stupid mistakes, I recently paid actual money for a copy of the latest track from Infectious, a well-known Oxford-based nobody, famous for his own complete obscurity. If you haven’t heard of him yet, don’t … Continue reading

Somethingson is not an author of whom I am fond. Having met him on no less than several occasions, I found him to be rude and self-absorbed; the ilk of pompous snob-jockey to revel only in the company of his … Continue reading

Band Review: Coloureds

coloureds-1

I’m not a huge fan of music. It’s smug and needy and there’s far too much of it. Racism, however, is something I have always enjoyed. With that in mind, I was ecstatic to encounter this riveting new band in … Continue reading
